DS Sensors - Pilot installation runs stable

The new microwave based Dry Substance (DS) content sensors of the MWTS series meanwhile are working in greenhouse-gas plants in some pilot installations.

For this purpose pre-configured sensors of type Typ MWTS P tube and MWTS P guard have been used. They are pre-configured for mounting them at fermenters and tubes and need no material contact.

The integration for data logging and processing was done via serial RS485 interfaces, an industrial interface standard. The pre-programmed data acquisition rate is 12 measurements per hour, one measurement each 5 minutes. This slow measurement speed was chosen to reduce the amount of data. But there is no problem to speed up the measurement and to have measurement rates in the millisecond range.

Following the recorded data such events like the addition of solid substrate materials like chicken excrements or maize can be identified easily. The system can also see stirring processes or the sedimentation of solid particles between stirring periods.
